Watchmen
Watchmen was active in the contemporary world of the 1980s. The presence of these superheroes has dramatically affected and altered the outcomes of the real world events. However, in this world, superheroes were unpopular among the public, which has led to the passage of legislation in 1977 to outlaw them. Doctor Manhattan and the Comedian operate as government-sanctioned agents, and Rorschach continues to operate outside the law.
Watchmen was revamped as the movie in 2008 and was released in March 2009.
